Hello, friends and supporters! I trust that you are staying healthy and safe during these uncertain times. Spring is normally our busiest season with cleanup and beautification projects, educational activities, and fundraising events. Of course, the current crisis has altered all of our lives for the foreseeable future, so here are some ways that we are adapting during this time:
- Education – Our education team has shifted their focus to creating online lessons for students, live streaming professional development for teachers, and developing environmental science packets that can be collected by families picking up food. Providing critical support for our teachers, students, and families is a top priority for our team.
- Project Green Fork – We have a social media campaign with suggestions on how to support our local establishments and are highlighting the things they are doing to keep going. Please support these establishments with to-go orders. Small businesses are the backbone of our community.
- Community Engagement – Our projects will largely be carried out over social media during April, May, and June. We have a variety of upcoming opportunities for cleaner and greener activities that will still allow for social distancing. Please follow us on Facebook and Instagram to stay updated on these important calls to action.
Most importantly, please stay safe and respect the Safer at Home Order. This global pandemic reminds us of how connected we are to each other and how important it is for us to do our part. Let’s come together to stay apart!
